Employee’s State Insurance is a self-financing social security and health insurance scheme for Indian workers.

The employer must contribute 3.25% and employee must contribute 0.75% of their wages towards ESI for FY 2023-24

Documents Required for ESIC Registration

As the registration process is conducted online, there is no need to submit physical documents. The documents required while filling the online registration form are:

  • Registration Certificate obtained under the Factories Act/Shops and Establishment Act.
  • Certificate of incorporation of the establishment, are mentioned below:
      • Certificate of Company Registration (in case of a company).
      • Partnership deed (in case of a partnership firm).
      • GST certificate.
      • Memorandum of Association (MOA) and Articles of Association (AOA).
  • Address proof of the establishment. Any one of the following can be submitted as address proof:
    • Electricity bill/Gas connection bill/Telephone bill of the establishment (not more than three months)
    • Hired/Rented/Leased Agreement of the establishment.
    • Property tax receipts of the land on which the establishment is situated.
    • A list of all the employees currently working in the establishment.
    • PAN Card of the business establishment as well as all the employees currently working in the establishment.
    • Details of compensation paid to all employees.
    • A cancelled cheque of the bank account of the company.
    • List of directors of the company.
    • An attendance register containing the attendance of employees.
